CRUSHED vs SANCTUM vs SILEN vs CRUCIFIX

CRUSHED, SANCTUM, SILEN or CRUCIFIX: which Elaré line is for you

Elaré makes four core lines. In one line each: choose CRUSHED if you want texture and presence at $38; choose SANCTUM if you want a precise, engraved cross motif that reads close up; choose SILEN if you want a chain with no pendant on it at all; choose CRUCIFIX if you want a full-size cross, 6.5 cm long.

CRUSHED

Our signature line, and the most reviewed thing we make: 4.8 out of 5 from 56 reviews on the gold ring and 4.86 from 50 on the silver. The surface is a fractured, broken-stone texture cut into the metal rather than printed onto it, so it keeps its depth as the piece wears in.

It comes in more cuts than anything else we make: the original CRUSHED ring in a medium band, V2 as the widest cut, V3 as the slimmest, the SIGNET with a wide flat top face, the earrings, and the CRUSHED CROSS necklace in three pendant scales. Rings are $38, the cross runs $48 to $68 by pendant size. Gold is 18K gold plated; silver is rhodium plated.

What it is not: plain. Even the slim cut has visible texture. See the full CRUSHED collection.

SANCTUM

The precise line. A flat-top band cut with a fine cross motif and linework, with a red zircon at the center. Where CRUSHED is broken and raw, SANCTUM is symmetrical and deliberate, and the detail rewards someone standing next to you rather than across the room.

The ring is $38 in US 4 to 11, the pendant is $58 on a 3 mm box chain in 20 to 26 inches, the bracelet is $78 in 16.5, 18.5 or 20.5 cm. Gold is 18K gold plated, silver is rhodium plated.

Sizing: SANCTUM is sized to fit true, so order the size you normally wear.

What it is not: big. Someone across a table sees a clean band, not a cross.

SILEN

The quiet line, and the only one with no pendant. Every link is carved with a faceted, stone-cut profile, so the chain itself is the piece. It is the natural short layer to wear above something longer, and the natural choice if you do not want a symbol around your neck at all.

The chain is $58 in 18, 20 or 22 inches; the bracelet is $38, one size, 18 cm with a 3.5 cm adjustable tail that takes it to 21.5 cm. Gold is 18K gold plated, silver is rhodium plated.

What it is not: religious. It carries no motif.

CRUCIFIX

The statement line. A forged cross 6.5 cm (2.56") long and 3.3 cm (1.30") wide, with a hammered surface that catches light in broken lines, hung on a 3.2 mm dragon bone chain in 25, 26, 27.5 or 30 inches. $88 in gold or silver. The long lengths are deliberate: a pendant that size needs the drop to hang properly.

There is also a CRUCIFIX and SILEN set, which is the layered version, the faceted chain short above the cross below.

What it is not: something you wear under a collar.

FAQ

Which Elaré line is the most popular?

CRUSHED. The CRUSHED ring holds 4.8 out of 5 from 56 reviews in gold and 4.86 from 50 in silver, more than any other piece we make.

What is the difference between CRUSHED and SANCTUM?

CRUSHED is a fractured, broken-stone texture cut into the metal and reads as raw. SANCTUM is a flat-top band with a precise engraved cross motif and a red zircon, and reads as deliberate. Both rings are $38.

Which line should I choose if I do not want a cross?

SILEN. It is the only line with no pendant and no motif: a faceted, stone-cut chain and a matching bracelet. CRUSHED rings and the AXIOM, FORM and LUNARA rings also carry no religious symbol.

What is the difference between CRUSHED CROSS and CRUCIFIX?

Scale and finish. CRUSHED CROSS is a textured cross pendant in three sizes from 31 mm to 50 mm on an 18 to 24 inch chain, from $48. CRUCIFIX is a single 6.5 cm forged cross on a 3.2 mm dragon bone chain in 25 to 30 inches, $88.

Do the lines wear well together?

Yes. SILEN is designed as the short layer above a longer pendant, and the CRUCIFIX and SILEN set is exactly that pairing. Keep metals matched within one zone, such as the neck, and mixing across zones is fine.

Are all four lines the same materials?

Yes. All are 316L stainless steel, waterproof, tarnish-resistant, hypoallergenic and covered by the lifetime warranty. Gold is 18K gold plated across all four; silver is rhodium plated.
